He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Denzil Walker and Retta Legg Walker of Mt. Nebo, WV.; and his brother Gary M. Walker. He is survived by: his wife Ramona Harper Walker; his son John J. Walker (Rose Ann) of Charleston; and his stepchildren, Deborah Matthews Spurlock of Austin, TX, David W. Harper (Brittany) of Scott Depot and Robert D. Harper of Hurricane.
