He is survived by: his daughter Ruth Ann Jacobs (James); his grandsons, Richard P. Eckert, Jr. and Stephen J. Eckert; his great grandchild Finley J. Eckert; and his siblings, Thomas Good, Dorothy Koepke, Louise Bromley and Annabeale Shives. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
