He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Malatt and Margaret Burkhart Malatt. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Wasson Malatt; his sons, Brian Malatt and Adam Malatt; and his brothers, Roger Malatt and Wayne Malatt. He is also survived by four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
