He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Hardy, Jr. and Olive Katherine Rutherford Hardy; his niece Geri E. Horn; and his mother-in-law Ida L. Piper. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Piper Hardy; his sons, Stephen L. Hardy, Jr. (Barbara) of Falling Waters, WV and Jeffrey W. Hardy (Laura) of Morgantown, WV; his sister Joyce Horn; his father-in-law Melvin E. Piper; and his brothers-in-law, David E. Piper (Donna Mae) and Roger D. Piper (Donna Jean). He is also survived by six grandchildren, one step grandchild, one great- grandchild and two step great-grandchildren.
