With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Linda D. Deshong of Gary, West Virginia, born in Keyser, West Virginia, who passed away on December 3, 2020 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Neville Shears and Eloise Mangold (Pancake); her daughter Holly Newhouse; and her siblings, Harold Shears and Leslie Mason.
She is survived by: her husband Gary N. DeShong; her children, Leslie Zacot of Keyser, Stacy Lower of Keyser, Kelly Shumaker (Jeff) of Keyser, Samantha Kesner (Mark) of Keyser and Andrew DeShong (Rebecca) of Cumberland; her siblings, Larry Shears of Keyser, Mike Shears of Keyser and Beverly Mangold (Rocky) of Keyser; her grandchildren, Derrick, Jeremy Newhouse, Billy Zacot, Luke Zacot (Samantha), Joshua Zacot (Tasha), Nicole Faulkner (Dan), Joel Shumaker (Chelle), Kody, Jacob Shumaker, Seth, Annie, Eli Kesner, Chloe DeShong and Cailin Robertson; her great grandchildren, Rylan, Karson, Colton, Brynn, Layne, Layton, Landon, Talen, Kaylee, Phia, Hudson, Ava, Emmett and Madelyn; and her aunt Barbara Ann Gauff of Pennsylvania.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, visitation and services will be private for the family with Pastor Donna Leatherman and Eli Kesner officiating. Family members are reminded that face masks and social distancing guidelines are to observed at all times.
