He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Lee and Bertha Jenkins Townsend; his stepfather William Means; and his brother William "Jeff" Means. He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda Merten (David), Lori Winkler (Tom) and Shannon "Valerie" Paschke (Chuck); and his siblings, Linda Alberti (Rich), Roxanne Townsend, Deana of Maine, Gary and Tom Means. He is also survived by his three granddaughters and three grandsons.
