He was predeceased by: his parent Robert Harry Tate; and his brother James Matthew Tate. He is survived by: his parent Bernice Cooper Tate; his wife Ethel Asten Tate; his children, Richie Tate (Tiffany), Tracie Tate of Flat Top, WV and Stacey Tate Lewis of Baltimore, MD; his sisters, Bonnie Goode (Jimmie) of Baltimore, MD and Becky Potter (James) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his grandchildren, Paige Tate, Matt Clark, Chris Craven, Gabriel Tate, Jonathon Tate and David Duncan III. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
