He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Guthrie (Brooks) and James Russell Guthrie; his parents-in-law, Robert and Elsa Tifft; his grandson Christopher Stilwell; his brothers-in-law, Gerry Maier and Jonathan Tifft; his uncle Woodrow; his aunt Hallie Guthrie; and his friends, Bill Wilson and Al Cunningham.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Tifft Guthrie; his daughter Catherine Stilwell (Jon); his granddaughters, Elise and Emma of Springfield, VA; his son James Guthrie (Neela); his grandchildren, Hudson and Beckett of Fairfax, VA; his sons, Matthew Guthrie of Martinsburg, WV and Andrew Guthrie (Sarah); his grandchildren, Landon and Harper of Hedgesville, WV; his daughter Elizabeth Guthrie of Springfield, VA; his friend Marilyn Wilson; and his pet Zoey.
