He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Copen (Davis); his parents, Clarence A. Copen and Mabel Copen (Braham); his sisters, Nancy J. Copen and Janice F. "Fay" Bishop (Copen); and his grandson Patrick A. Copen.
He is survived by: his son Allen Eugene Copen, Jr. (Vicki L. Copen) of Williamstown, WV; his grandchildren, Melissa "Missy" Copen of Morgantown, Scott Copen of Bruceton Mills and Jessica Copen of Williamstown; his great grandchildren, Gary Clements, Jr., Adriana Copen of Morgantown, Trent, Wyatt and Levi Copen of Bruceton Mills; and his siblings, Glenn Copen, Sr. and Christine Copen of Kingwood. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
