He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Sr. Nelson and Della Nelson; his former wife Erma Nelson; and his siblings, Malloy Nelson, Anna Lee Miller, Delta Mae Hill, Darrell Nelson, Dennis Nelson and Alvin Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Nelson; his children, Donald Nelson (Robin), Donna Marcum, Ronald Nelson (Sandy), Bruce Nelson (Erika) and Starla Mabe (Andy); and his sister Genevieve Edna Nelson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
