He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollive Leigh and Luvene Wingfield Leigh; his grandson Rodney Jr.; and his brother David Leigh. He is survived by: his wife Cora Leigh of Virginia; his sons, John Butler (Judy), Rodney Butler (Devona) and David Butler (Lori); his grandchildren, Amber Workman, Sheena Heaver (Jeremy), Jackie Sias, David Butler II (Juliette), Dallas Butler, Cody Stephenson and Kyle Stephenson; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Miles, Lilian, Isaiah, Chloe, Mikenzy, Emma Lou, Jack, Beau and Blakelee; his siblings, Bill Leigh (Liz), Tim Leigh (Tracey), Terry Leigh (Brenda), Mark Leigh (Bekki) and Roberta Dezarn (Jon); and his sister-in-law Kathy Leigh. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
