It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy B. Schwarm Powelson of Bridgeport, West Virginia, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 20, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar J. Schwarm and Blanche Hodil Schwarm; and her husband William James Powelson Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey Powelson (Jacqueline) of Philippi, WV and Dr. Robert Powelson (Beth) of Shinnston, WV; her grandchildren, Michael Powelson (Maria), Leslie Magee (Kevin), Amy Patrick (Derek) and Julie Tennant (Andrew); and her great grandchildren, Harper Magee, Hayden Magee, Charlie Powelson, Jacqueline Powelson, Luna Tennant, Esther Tennant and Reid Patrick.

Donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Bridgeport United Methodist Church Permanent Fund, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
