He was predeceased by: his parents, George Peters and Irene Peters; his wife Marge; and his sister Marion Nicolas (Bobby). He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Hunter, Barbara Roth (Bill), Jeanne Peters and Don Peters (Paula); and his grandchildren, Matthew Hunter (Chelsea), Chad Hunter (Jenna), Marjorie Perez (Chris), B. J. Roth (Ashley), Joe Roth (Sarah), Christen Sampson (Erick) and Sarah Peters. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
