He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Mac" VanGilder and Doris VanGilder (Weaver); his brother William (Bill); his brother-in-law Gene; and his daughter-in-law Connie.
He is survived by: his wife Ethelyn; his children, Rodney VanGilder (Lois) of Fairmont, Todd VanGilder of Mannington and Julie Gregory of Clarksburg; his grandchildren, Zac Hardesty, Heather McDonald (Thom), Meghann Gregory, Tara Phillips (Josh), Mitchell Gregory (Britney), David N. VanGilder, Ory Cercone-VanGilder (Eliza), Chelsey Gregory and Hadessah VanGilder; his sister Beulah Reilly (Boots) of Monticello, Florida.; and also, Belcastro, Debbie Edwards and Margery Broadwater. He is also survived by Six great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
