It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Arthur Jenkinson Jr. of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, born in Rochester, New York, who passed away on July 28, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Arthur Jenkinson, Sr. and Emily Helen Glanton Jenkinson; and his grandson Jarrett Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Debra Kay VanGosen Jenkinson; his children, Leilah Jenkinson of Berkeley Springs, Richard A. Jenkinson III of Berkeley Springs and Crystal D. Buhrman of Berkeley Springs; his sisters, Susan Jenkinson of Canada and Judy Bruce-Mangle of Florida; and his grandchildren, Lydia Jenkinson of Berkeley Springs, Sterling Wills of Berkeley Springs and Randy D. Buhrman, Jr. of Berkeley Springs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick's memory made be made directly to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.

“Rick's death greatly saddens me. Without any success, I tried to find his mailing address. Several months ago, I mailed a "thinking of you" card to the last known address I had for him. There was no reply. I was wondering how he was doing during the pandemic. Over the years we had sent some cards to each other. He had a photo from me, and I have one from him. It is my hope that there was not any, or very much, pain in his journey's end. Thomas "Tom" Krolak”

“Rick and myself became friends in September, 1963 when we were both fifteen at Greece Olympia High school in Greece, New York, a western suburb of Rochester. His father had been my eighth grade teacher in most of my subjects. Like Rick, I was born in Rochester. We hadn't seen each other since July, 1975, during Rick's first marriage. He was then living in Rochester with his first wife, Judy. The last time we spoke to each other was in 2008, over the phone. It was just after he turned 60.”
