He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Leroy and Emma Hager Middlekauff. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Rosalie Andrews Middlekauff; his children, Jan Rosalie Briel (Michael) of Round Hill, VA and Thomas Edward Middlekauff (Tammy Beachley) of Smithsburg, MD; and his grandchildren, Kelsey Elizabeth Rosalie Briel (John R. Kalafut), John Michael Briel and Hannah Marie Middlekauff.
