He is survived by: his sons, James Thomas Metheny IV (Alisha) of Beckley and Michael Wayne Metheny of DuPont City; his mother Sandra Richmond Metheny (Rock Metheny) of DuPont City; his sister Leisa Wellington of Glasgow; his grandchildren, James Thomas Metheny V, Brooklyn Metheny, Ryan Lilly, Hannah Harper and Nathan Harper; and his nephew Aaron Crump.
