He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Layton and Pheobe Fridley Layton; and his brother Wayne Layton. He is survived by: his wife Linda Layton; his daughters, Julie Meadows (Jeremiah) and Tina Crowder; his siblings, Roy Layton (Joy) of Charleston, Marilyn Hudnall (Bernard) of St. Albans and Shirley Wilson (Randy) of Charleston; and his grandchildren, Daniel Layton, Jeremiah Hobbs and Gracie Meadows Layton.
