He was predeceased by: his mother Eva Jane Moats; and his siblings, Clayton Moats, Steven Moats, Barbara Fishel and Nancy Teter.

He is survived by: his siblings, Lawrence Moats and Carolyn Lipscomb. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
