She was predeceased by: her father Melvin Eugene Akers; her daughter Christie L. Sharpless; and her brother Russell Akers. She is survived by: her mother Thelma Akers (Everett); her close friend Dwayne Boyce; her children, Kenneth Sharpless of Guyton, GA and Kimberly Slaubaugh (Michael) of Swanton, MD; her brothers, Rick, Paul and Tom Akers; her grandchildren, Shirley, Shawn, Oreana, Shianne, Alexander and Elizabeth; and her great grandchild Kyler.
