He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward and Arlene Murphy Hipes. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Lambert Hipes; his children, Sheri Heffner (Clyde Perkins) of Mt. Solon, VA, George Brian Hipes (Melissa) of Ashland, VA and Matthew Edward Hipes (Courtney) of Durbin; and his grandchildren, Matthew A. Hipes, Noah Hipes, Mason Hipes, Abigail Hipes, Meredith Hipes and Richard Heffner.
