He was predeceased by: his mother Edna Cooper; his wife Rayola Surgeon Cooper; and his siblings, Odessa Cooper and Ira Cooper. He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda Surgeon of Alderson; his brother Travis Cooper of Alderson; his grandchildren, Brandi Short (Jimmy Rood) of Lewisburg and Randy Short (Tessa Fogus) of Lewisburg; and his great grandchildren, Brailyn Black, Ashlyn Rood, Sage Short and Cooper Ray Short.
