He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Ellard and Stella Stuart Ellard; his brother Richard Ellard; his daughter-in-law Sandra Ellard; his niece Kathy Ellard Mann; and his nephew Michael Lee Ellard.
He is survived by: his wife Almeda Ellard; his son Ray Ellard; his granddaughters, Katherine Ellard (Nicolas Poloczek) and Bethany Ellard-Richmond (Thor Richmond); his sister Betty Bennett; his sister-in-law Kitty Ellard; his niece Barbara Bowles; and his nephews, Artie and Rick Shires.
No services are planned at this time, but donations can be made in his honor to Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV.
