He was predeceased by: his wife Trish; his brother Eugene "Buddy" Schmidt Jr.; his brothers-in-law, Chester Cates and John Kaul; and his sister Deanna Beck (David).
He is survived by: his children, Damon Dean Schmidt, Megan Mae Blevins (Adam), Ryan Dembrowski (Kristen) and Matthew Dembrowski; his grandchildren, Billy, Gunnar, Peyton, Colton Blevins, Silvana Schmidt, Elaine and Emilie Dembrowski; and his siblings, Carolyn Cates, Nancy Kaul, Amy Caputa (John), Miriam "Blackie" Weber (Larry), Laurie Mack (Jerry), Holly Rupert, Elizabeth "Betsy" Dzbinski (Rick), Dennis "Spa" Schmidt (Candice) and Douglas Schmidt (Tammy). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
