He is survived by: his spouse Elsie Hanson Shefelbine; his children, Allene, Robert, Lisa and Kelly Salem; his wife Roberta; his son Ronald Gruen (Renee) of West Salem; his stepdaughter Kelly Samuels (Netwal) of La Crosse; his grandchildren, Shawn Gruen (Aubrey), Jenna Kapter (Casey), Alec Netwal and Kate Netwal; his great grandchildren, Hannah Gruen, Xavior Gruen and Jaxon Kaptor; his siblings, Eunice Meyer (William) of Onalaska and Larry Gruen of Tomah; and also West Salem. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews.
