He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Welper and Irene Welper (Buege); his brothers, Everet, Virgil and Leslie; and his son David.
He is survived by: his wife Colleen; his children, Lee Welper (Rebecca), Nancy Zadow (Jeff) and Joan Tharp (Michael); and his grandchildren, Zachary, Benjamin Zadow, Madison, Connor, Liam Tharp and Frieda Welper.
