He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Semler and Clara Semler; his sister Shirley Mann of Sussex; and his siblings-in-law, Gilda Semler and William Mann.

He is survived by: his brother James Semler (Germaine); his spouse Sandy Semler; his daughters, Kim Krull (Eugene), Karen Jones (Kevin) and Kristine Johnson (David); and his grandchildren, Michaela Farvour (Kurt), Erin Prombo (Andrew), Aaron Johnson (Shannon), Emily Jones, Hannah Johnson, Ben Johnson, Grace Johnson and Eli Jones.
