Susan M. Bond Obituary
Susan Marie Bond was born to eternal life peacefully at ACCENT CARE hospice in Wauwatosa at the age of 81. She had been in gradual decline over the last 2 years as a result of a series of falls and several hospital and subsequent rehab stays that took it's toll and weakened her. She leaves her son Jason and younger sister Marlene Karabin both of Milwaukee. She was predeceased by her father John Karabin in 1994, her mother Edith Karabin in 2016, and younger brother John R. Karabin in 2021. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends. She was also predeceased by our 5 wonderful cats we had over the many years.
Mom was very healthy and active thru all except the last 2-3 years of her life. She was a highly regarded legal secretary for many years at FOLEY & LARDNER. She transitioned to part time in the late 2000's and finally retired in 2013. She was active for about 40 years as a MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO volunteer as well as ELM BROOK HUMANE SOCIETY walking dogs. She was always concerned about animals especially cats and dogs. I could not have asked for a better and loving Mom. She was always there for me in my 59 plus years thru good times and bad. I loved her dearly and she will certainly be missed. I can take comfort knowing that she is now in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Special Thank You to the wonderful people at ACCENT CARE in Wauwatosa who treated my Mom with absolute kindness and respect in her closing days.
In accordance to Susan's wishes, there will be no traditional funeral services. Only private interment of cremains at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO specifically ZOO PRIDE, VALLEY OF THE KINGS Big Cat Sanctuary of Sharon, WI. , and ELMBROOK HUMANE SOCIETY.
