He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Gearing and June Gearing; and his brother Gary. He is survived by: his wife Helen Rickertsen Kruse; his children, Jennifer Balma (John) and Eric Gearing (Tessa); and his stepsons, Jason Kruse (Angelina) and Reggie Kruse (Mindy). He is also survived by 10 nieces and 4 nephews and 9 grand-nieces and 2 grand-nephews.
