He is survived by: his wife Frieda Vande Zande; his children, Dr. Galyn Vande Zande (Lori), Pamela Young and Kim Hillyer (Jeff); his grandchildren, Eric (Angie), Allison (Alex), Nicole, Miranda, Bradley, Jessica (Brian), Rebecca, Dustin (Stephanie) and Samantha (Colton); his great grandchildren, Bridget, Gerrit, Wayne, Jenna, Ryer, Stetson, Lance, Caleb, Eli, Bre, Lark and Rory; his sister Arlene DeJager (John); and his sister-in-law Hilda DeVries (Don).
