He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Laufenberg and Caroline Laufenberg (Kalscheuer); his sister Matilda; his parents-in-law, Jerome, Joan Koch and Wendelin Maier; his siblings, Roger and Regina; his brother-in-law Felix Statz; his parents-in-law, Mel and Mary Koch; and his grandson Dustin Helt.

He is survived by: his former wife Geraldine Koch; his wife Gerry; his children, Mark, Bob Laufenberg (Marlene), Linda Helt (Jim) and Cheryl Richards (Kevin); his grandchildren, Eric Helt, Lindsey, Troy Laufenberg, Matthew and Mitchell Richards; and his brother-in-law Paul Flansburg.
