He was predeceased by: his sister Charlotte Koopman; and also Scott Herman. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Schlaver; his children, Steven Schlaver, Susan Schlaver Wentland (Jim) and Sandra Laux; and his siblings, Ken Schlaver (Vonnie), Jerry Schlaver (Virginia), Ruth Johnson, Evelyn Herrman, Anita Steinke and Eileen Arndt (Chuck).
