Shirley Wegner Obituary
Shirley L. Wegner (née Bork), aged 90, passed away on August 2, 2024, in Watertown, WI. Born on April 9, 1934, in Milwaukee, WI. Shirley was a loving figure in the lives of her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her dedication to her family and her willingness to put others before herself. She found joy in entertaining, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed. Her drink of choice, a brandy old fashion neat with pickled mushrooms.
Shirley worked at Kohls Foods in Milwaukee and later at Little Norway and Little Vittles in Oconomowoc, WI. Her commitment to service extended into her volunteer work at the VFW especially at the pancake breakfast in Lowell, WI.
Shirley enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and cooking, activities that not only brought her personal joy but also allowed her to share with her family and friends. She would often cut out recipes she thought her family might like from newspapers and magazines.
She is survived by her children, Melanie Quest, Robert (Leah) Meyer, and William (Renee Reed) Meyer; grandchildren, Kayla (Ezra) Suhr, Melissa (Joshua) Stock, Michael Meyer, Madelyn (Bradley) Palmer, Korey Eske, Alexandra, and Rachel Meyer; and great-grandchildren, Layne Suhr and Owen, Harper, and Rhett Palmer. She also leaves behind her sister, Marilyn (Jerry) Jueck.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer Meyer, her mother, Alice Wutt, her father, Gilbert Bork, and her stepfather, John Beatovic.
Shirley's life was one of profound kindness and dedication, and her legacy will continue to influence and inspire those who knew her.
Visitation will be held Thursday August 8, 2024 at Schmidt & Bartlet Funeral Home 121 S. Cross St. Oconomowoc from 10:30 am until time of service at 1 pm. Burial to follow at St. Joan of Arc Cemetery.
