He was predeceased by: his parents, William West and Verda "Elizabeth" West (Adams); his wife Eulala West; his grandson Kenneth Charles Berg; his son-in-law Kenneth W. Berg; his parents-in-law, Neil and Evelyn Greene; and his sisters-in-law, Charlotte "Lottie" Mathews and Janet Rickman.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. Steven West (Rochelle) and Angela Berg; his grandsons, Grant Steven West, Lowell Steven West and Lucas Ray Berg; his stepgrandson Paul Kregar; and his sisters, Suzanne Richwalksi and Kathleen Standish. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
