He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Arvid, Gladys Nordquist, Grover and Mildred West. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Jaclyn Scharte (Neal) and Johnny; his stepson Kyle; his parents, Tom and Patricia; his brothers, Mike (Jen) and Ryan (Katie); and his granddaughter Evelyn Scharte. He is also survived by nephews, aunts and uncles and many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an educational fund for Johnny.
