Laurence W. Harvey, 53, Stoughton, WI, formerly of Lombard, passed away on October 8, 2021 after a valiant battle with complications from Covid-19. Beloved son of Lawrence and Judy Harvey of Lombard, IL. Cherished grandson, nephew and friend of many. He will be fondly remembered by his cousins that grew up with him in Lombard: Jim Picker, Janelle (Picker) Bailey, Ellen (Picker) Greer, Carol (Picker) Townsend and Bill Harvey.
Laurence, known as “Larry” and “Lars” was born on February 4, 1968 to Lawrence and Judy Harvey. He attended Saint Alexanders grade school, Montini Catholic High School and graduated Wheaton Christian Academy. He went on to study at the College of DuPage.
Larry was passionate about God and devoted himself to the study of the Bible and Christian service. Larry served as a youth minister at the Wheaton Christian Academy and later at the Word of Truth Christian Fellowship in Chicago, IL until 2005.
Larry spent the remaining years of his life in and around Madison, WI. He successfully built and operated an auto touch-up paint service, which he named “Paint-Med”.
While in Stoughton he served his community by ministering God’s infinite love to those he met. He taught the Bible and provided Christian counseling at a weekly Christian Fellowship he hosted at his home. He was a friend, mentor, and spiritual leader to many people all across the country.
Larry was an avid golfer and part-time pro golf instructor including Sugar Creek Golf Course. He won an MVP golf award from his stay at Wheaton Academy. He had such a great sense of humor. Many times, he blended humor with his teaching style including both golf and the Bible.
We love you Larry and you will forever be in our hearts.
