He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Bender and Martha Werthmann Bender; his children, Richard Bender (Charmaine) and Kelly Biwan (Bill); his sisters-in-law, Connie Bender, Rosie Bubb and Barbara Thiel; his parents-in-law, Gilbert and Myra Klein (Carol Mae); his granddaughter Hailie Biwan; and his siblings, Gladys Buechel, Ralph, Gerhardt, James and Robert.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Erdmann-Schwartz (Joey) and Jill Grinna; his grandchildren, Aaron Erdmann, John Erdmann (Jennie), Mark Erdmann (Kate), Krystle Jensen (Josiah), Jenna Jensen (Stephen), Kelsey Thurow (Gavin), Abigail Woerishofer (Max), Kjersten Grinna, Noah Biwan and Mekenzie Biwan; and his stepgranddaughter Karrie Jo Richter (Dave). He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Dick's name.
