He is survived by: his parents, Dennis Downing and Joanne Downing (Sebald); his sister Allison Aschenbach (John); his nephews, JohnO and Charlie Aschenbach; his great-niece Emily Garcia (Marcos); his grandchildren, Aubrianne, Marcos Jr. (Junny) and Zuri; his past roommate Dan Perronne; and his uncle David Downing. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or School in Jason's name.
