He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Haveren and Carl Van Haveren; the mother of his children Jean Heimer; and his granddaughter Lola Grace Doepke. He is survived by: his children, Matthew Van Haveren, Kimberly Doepke (JP) and Maxwell Van Haveren (Courtney); his grandchildren, Milo, Finley and Ryland; and his sister Avis Steenstra (Chuck).
