He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Schmitz and Josephine Schmitz (Halbach); his daughter Denise Herm; his siblings, Kenneth Schmitz (Agnes), Janet Schmitz, Donald Schmitz, Mary Schmitz and Gerald Schmitz; and his siblings-in-law, MarJean Schmitz, William Joas and Alan Wagner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Dawn Fredricks (Todd) and Jennifer Weisfeld (Kevin); his grandchildren, Carmen Morgan (Scott), Ryan Kaminski, Kyle Fredricks, Seth Weisfeld and Paige Weisfeld; his great grandchildren, Karissa Kaminski, Kamryn Kaminski, Jackson Frank, Emily Morgan and Kenslee Brandon; his son-in-law Michael Herm; his siblings, Shirley Wasmer, Glenroy Schmitz (MarJean "Mittie"), Joan Scholz (Eugene), Carol Joas, LeRoy Schmitz, Allen Schmitz (Debbie) and Linda Wagner; and his sisters-in-law, Romilda "Millie" Schmitz and Anna Mae Schmitz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
