He was predeceased by: his parents, Roman Ditsch and Marion Ditsch (Gavol); and his brother Donald. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Elsten, Dorothy Zellmer, Mark, Eugene (Karen Radke), Clarence, Sara Ditsch-Harrison (Henry), Christopher, Beth and Katheryn; and his siblings, Earl (Jean), Arthur (Mary "Pauline"), Phillip (Carmen) and Shirley Broten. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren.
