He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Winchell and Cena Winchell (Turney); his wife Jane Huschka; his son Michael Winchell; his stepfather Charles Sterba; and his siblings, Adrian, Donald Winchell, Theta Young, Virginia Sands, Rosella Warner and Evelyn Winchell.
He is survived by: his children, Merlin Winchell (Gloria) of Delaware, Anthony "Tony" Winchell of Mineral Point, Joan Bones (Joel) of Elroy, Jean Pulvermacher (David) of Roxbury and Jane "Franny" Winchell (Arnie) of Merrimac. He is also survived by nine Grandchildren and eighteen Great Grandchildren.
