He was predeceased by: his father Richard L. Brantley; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Koch Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary A. Koch; his mother Alwilda "Willie" Brantley (Rowley) of Reedsburg; his son Christopher (Amy Schonenberger) of Sauk City; his close friends, Karl and Donna Hartzke of Oklahoma; and also Tyler Moritz. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
