He was predeceased by: his parents, Guido Bertola and Sarah Bertola; his parents-in-law, Matthew and Lorraine Keefe; and his brothers-in-law, Tim and Jim Keefe (Lawrence "Tarz" Oertel).
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Bertola; his children, Michael Bertola and Gina Slye (Michael); his granddaughters, Emily and Caitlin Slye; and his sisters-in-law, Ellen Svendsen and Margaret Otto (Steve). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
