He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Schilling and Eva Schilling (Karls). He is survived by: his son Robert Schilling; and his siblings, William P. Schilling (Susan), Tom Schilling, Mary Heimbecker (Jim), Cindy Schmidt (Kim) and Shelly Rathman (Dan).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
