It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George J. Schmitt (Port Washington, Wisconsin), born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 18, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schmitt and Bertha Schmitt (Arndt); his wife Audrey Bertz; his brother Robert Schmitt (Frances); and his brother-in-law Donald Bertz (Carol).
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Burmesch (Gary), Mike Schmitt (Mary) and Linda Baumann-Dunning (Scott); his grandchildren, T. J. Burmesch (Miranda), Emily Zalewski (Jason), Katie Phillips (Patrick), Patrick Schmitt, Michael Baumann (Carrie), Daniel Baumann (Melissa) and Sarah Baumann; and his great grandchildren, Broderek, Brekken, Bowe, Maryn, Remi, Parker, Harrison, Graham, Jacob (Kira), Jonathan, Joseph and Ashley. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the family to be used for a park bench in George's memory and for the Honor Flight.
