He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert John Rink and Dorothy Gertrude Schalk Rink; and his brother Philip. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Shannon-Rink; his children, Edward Rink and Elizabeth; his son-in-law Eric Gullickson; and his siblings, Jean Wangerin, Janet Theoharris, Thomas Rink (Elaine), Michael Rink (Heidi), Paul Rink (Debra), Joseph Rink (Vicki) and Lillian Brekke (Marshall). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
