She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Smith and Jenette Smith (Van Dyke); her husband Robert Hoogstra; and her brothers-in-law, William Hoogstra (Gertrude), John Hoogstra (Jean) and Wayne Freitag.
She is survived by: her children, Bob Hoogstra (Kathy) of North Muskegon, MI, Elaine Kappers (Wendell) of Oostburg and Ken Hoogstra (Lori) of Brown Deer; her grandchildren, Jon (Wendy), Dave (Jenna), Chris Hoogstra (Lizzie), Josh Kappers (Jessie), Taylor Kappers (Codie Keller), Allison Otte (Brady), Alex Kappers, Leah Hoogstra (Joseph McGuire) and Kristen Gustafson (Connor); her great grandchildren, James Hoogstra, Evelyn, Luke, Joanna, Sophie Hoogstra, Joshua Kappers, Bradlie Mae, Ellis, Lennon Gustafson and Margot Kappers; her pet Sawyer; her brother Al Smith (Jeannette); and her sister-in-law Elaine Freitag. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
