Richard R. Vanderwerker Obituary

Richard Reed Vanderwerker, 70, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife Mary on March 11, 2022. He was born in Oconomowoc, WI to James and Marianna (nee Planteu) Vanderwerker. Richard is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Vanderwerker.

Richard is survived by his children Sarah (Jim) Burd, Matthew (Julia) Vanderwerker, Elizabeth (Eric) Michaelis, and Amanda (Christopher) Hauglie.

He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren Sophia, Jacob, Caleb, Leah, Jonah, Clayton, and Miles.

Richard served as a police officer for many years serving both the Delafield Police Department as well as Chenequa. He also served in the United States Marine Corps.

Richard enjoyed day trips with his wife, especially to Prairie Du Sac to eagle watch. He also played the guitar for many years.
