He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Tennie and Anna Tennie (Kettner); his wife Kathleen Crain (Kate); his brother-in-law Bob Crain; his children, David Tennie (Sue), Jane McConnell (John), Ann Klatt (Jim), Mary Van Handel (Glenn), Barb Steffanus (Ron), Margie Herzfeldt (Glen), Kathy Diedrich (Joe) and Connie McClone (Dick); his grandchildren, Katie Krause (AJ), Michael Tennie (Niki), Shawn Tennie (Kerri), Sara Bellile (Travis), Molly McConnell (Alex Mattke), Daniel McConnell (Amy), Jennifer Simonsen (John), Jessica Lynch (Sean), Michelle Gajarawala (Parag), Stephanie Imhoff (Spencer), Ryan Van Handel (Nikki), Emily Dunn (Kyle), Haley Steffanus, Eric Herzfeldt (Raechyl Hughes), Scott Herzfeldt (Mel), Amy Burton (Mitchell), Laura Gibson (Jordan), Andy Diedrich, Kyle McClone (Marissa), Kara McClone, Kelly Kabe (Kyle) and Kevin McClone; his sisters-in-law, Mary Fran Crain and Suzie Crain; and his siblings, Leo Tennie (Dorathy), Regina Ulman (Servie), Celestine Urban (Harold) and Leonard Tennie (Mary). He was also cherished by twenty-six great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID concerns, a private funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
